Lafayette KOA holiday

Welcome to Cajun Country, where the food, music, and culture are unlike anywhere else.

This national award-winning campground makes an easy home base for all of it. Level concrete pull-thrus welcome big rigs up to 70 feet, rain or shine, and cozy cabins and lakefront cottages are ready if you left the RV at home. Start your morning with fresh local coffee from the store, cast a line in the 10-acre stocked lake (no fishing license required), or cool off in one of two large pools under the shade of massive oak trees. When you’re ready to explore, swamp tours through the Atchafalaya Basin, the Tabasco factory on Avery Island, and Vermilionville’s living history village are all an easy drive away. And right outside the park entrance, Scott’s famous markets serve up the boudin that earned this little town its reputation.

Local Attractions

Adventure awaits just beyond the campground!

Swamp Tours

No trip to Louisiana is complete without a ride into the backwaters of the Atchafalaya Basin or beautiful Lake Martin. Local outfitters offer everything from pontoon boats for big groups to flat-bottom boats and airboats, and the campground team can help you book the right one.

Vermilionville

Step back more than 200 years at this Cajun and Creole living history museum and folklife village, which celebrates the cultures of the people who settled south Louisiana.

Avery Island

Home of world-famous TABASCO® Sauce, Avery Island is one of five salt dome islands rising above the flat Gulf Coast. Tour the factory, then wander the lush Jungle Gardens.

Rip Van Winkle Gardens

Over 20 rolling acres of semi-tropical gardens beside Lake Peigneur, shaded by stately live oaks and blooming every day of the year. The centerpiece is the 1870 Joe Jefferson House, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Acadian Village

This folk life museum offers an authentic look at 19th-century Acadian life in south Louisiana. Explore restored period homes furnished with Louisiana antiques, a replica village store and chapel, and ten acres of gardens and woodland. The Mississippi Valley Museum on site is included with admission.

KONRIKO Company Store

Visit America’s oldest rice mill, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Start with a presentation on the history of Cajun culture, then tour the creaky old mill and watch rice being packaged and rice cakes being made.
